When your teacher uses QMR, you receive a specially printed answer sheet instead of writing your answers on a loose piece of paper. The sheet contains a unique QR code that links every bubble you fill in directly to your student record — no manual data entry required. Filling the sheet correctly takes less than a minute to learn and makes a real difference to how accurately your answers are read.

What is a QMR answer sheet?

Your teacher prints QMR answer sheets on a standard office printer using A4 or letter-sized paper. Each sheet is unique to a specific exam, round, and student. In one corner you will find a QR code — a small square of black-and-white blocks. When your teacher photographs the completed sheet, QMR reads the QR code to identify which exam you sat, which class group (round) you belong to, and who you are. Your answers are then graded automatically without your teacher having to type anything in by hand.
Do not write on, fold over, tear, tape, or spill anything on the QR code area in the corner of your sheet. If the QR code is damaged or obscured, QMR cannot identify your sheet automatically, and your teacher will have to match it to your record manually — which delays your score.

Before the exam

Ask your teacher for your answer sheet at the start of the exam. Keep it flat on your desk and handle it carefully. Place your bag and other papers away from the sheet to avoid accidental creases or marks. Do not fold the sheet to fit it under a book or into a pocket before the exam ends — bring it flat to your desk and leave it there.

Filling in your answers

1

Locate the answer area

Find the numbered answer bubbles or boxes on your sheet. Each question corresponds to a numbered row. Work through the questions in order so you do not accidentally mark the wrong row.
2

Choose your answer and mark the bubble

Select the bubble for your chosen answer option (A, B, C, D, or the number your teacher specifies). Place your pen or pencil tip inside the bubble and fill it in completely.
Press firmly and fill the entire bubble from edge to edge. A fully darkened mark is far easier for QMR’s AI to read than a light tick, a small dot in the centre, or a half-filled bubble. Darker marks reduce the chance of a misread.
3

Avoid stray marks

Keep your pen and pencil inside the answer bubbles only. Stray marks or scribbles in the spaces between answer options can confuse the recognition system. If you rest your hand on the sheet, make sure your pen or pencil is capped.
4

Handle changes carefully

If you want to change an answer, erase your original mark as completely as possible before filling in the new bubble. QMR’s AI attempts to detect the intended answer when two options for the same question are both marked, but a partially erased mark can still be read as a second selection and may cause your answer to be recorded as incorrect. Use a clean eraser and rub firmly until the original mark is gone.
5

Submit your sheet

Hand your completed answer sheet to your teacher flat and face-up. Your teacher will photograph or upload it for scanning. Once scanning is complete, your score appears automatically in the QMR student portal.

What happens after you submit

Your teacher opens the QMR scan page, photographs your sheet (or uploads a photo they have already taken), and submits it for processing. QMR reads the QR code to identify the exam and your student record, then grades every answer against the answer key your teacher has entered. The result — your total score and a per-question breakdown — appears in your student dashboard within moments of the scan completing. There is no additional waiting on your side; as soon as your teacher’s scan job finishes, your score is live.
